Position Summary

Your role is to manage strategic projects, as assigned, across TPA International which spans multiple departments, but the majority will be technical in nature. The key project you’ll be running is a multi-year migration programme where we are looking to migrate multiple clients from our legacy claims systems into our state-of-the-art digital platform to improve the claims experience through efficiency gains. 

 

Your primary focus will be working with others to gain clarity on the outcomes of projects and then have a laser focus on the delivery ensuring people in your Agile multidisciplinary teams are motivated, taking ownership, and held accountable. You will also work alongside the Head of TPA and Affinity Systems EMEA AP to ensure the portfolio of projects is managed correctly. Meaning, ensure the projects are successfully delivered on time, milestones are achieved, project objectives are monitored and the projects are running within budget. You eliminate risks and ensure the stakeholders and sponsors are included in your project delivery.

General Background, Experience & Professional Qualifications

  • A minimum of 3 years experience working as an agile project manager / business analyst
  • 2+ years’ experience leading cross-functional teams based over several sites/territories
  • Association for Project Management (APM) Project Management Qualification (PMQ) or Project Management Institute (PMI) Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
  • Demonstratable experience of running projects with a customer focused experience (portals)
  • Demonstratable knowledge of managing data (reporting and core) migration projects

Nice to have:

  • Experience of working in DevOps, Confluence, MS Project, MS Visio and MS Office
  • SQL and database design knowledge
  • Six Sigma (or similar) accredited
  • Knowledge of the Insurance/Claims Industry

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Determining the best means of satisfying customer requirements within the context of project objectives and constraints, i.e. developing solutions;
  • Ensure projects are delivered successfully and meets the expectations of the stakeholders and project sponsors.
  • Managing internal and external stakeholders, taking account of their levels of influence and interests.
  • Monitor the progress of the projects and ensure the teams are delivering the value as agreed within the Project Brief.
  • Developing and agreeing budgets for projects and controlling forecast and actual costs against them
  • Producing progress reports, managing RAID items and escalating with the client and within the business as appropriate. This includes identifying and monitoring project risks and issues early (threats and opportunities), planning and implementing mitigation plans, responding to other issues that affect projects
  • Attend and participate in sprint planning and retrospectives to ensure the teams are focusing on the right stories.
  • Ensure your teams are continuously improving their processes by optimising the use of DevOps and implementing Agile practises across the department.
  • Play a consultative role to put in place the appropriate people, process, and tools, to improve team efficiency and effectiveness
  • Coaching members of the team as needed to optimize the efficiency of the project team. Encourage your teams to share knowledge with others across the department.
  • Interacting with company clients and understanding their requirements
  • Promote empowerment of the team by ensuring that each team member is fully engaged in the project with meaningful contribution, and encourage self-managing independent teams.

Skills

  • Bachelor/Master’s Degree in IT
  • Strong leadership, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.

  • Strong coordination capabilities and experience.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication with internal and external stakeholders at all levels (primarily English)
  • Ability to control and manage project management plans through the entire project life cycle
  • Be able to handle various responsibilities at the same time
  • Have worked in countries across Europe and can articulate how the cultures affect the project delivery plans such as the planning, scheduling, and management of all aspects of a project
  • Ability to manage stakeholders with competing priorities
  • Understand change management procedures and data governance policies
